Richard Alexander was born in England and moved to Italy in 1975. He studied at the International School of Violin Making in Cremona under the guidance of M° Giorgio Cè from 1975 to 1976 and then studied at the School of Violin Making in Parma with M° Renato Scrollavezza from 1976 to 1981. Since then he has worked in various cities in Italy and at the present time has opened a workshop at his home in Fonte (Treviso) where he continues to perfect his work as a violin maker and restorer. His instruments are played all over the world and in particular in Italy, England, Germany, Canada and the USA.
Richard Alexander has held numerous conferences on violin making in various conservatories and schools of music in Italy and abroad.
His own instruments are available for trial along with a selection of fine quality antique violins.
